The Making of a Book

Rakow Library / Corning Glass Museum
Corning, New York

Our next stop was the Rakow Library, where Gail was kind enough to locate several photos of Steuben flower frogs for us.

Here I am in the stacks at the Rakow Library. "So many books, so little time."

When I learned Michael Vanderheyden works for Tiffany & Co., I asked if they had a Favrile flower frog and bowl I could photograph. They didn't, but Mike said I could find that anywhere. And guess what? I found one in a shop in Corning, New York. The dealer was kind enough to let us photograph it. Price tag: $2100.
