Memories of Pilgrim Congregational Church, Birmingham, Michigan

Lorie Fiesselmann wrote: I am so sorry to hear about your father's passing. Of course you already know this but he was very special person and a true friend of my father Fritz Fiesselmann. Pilgrim Church was a very important part of our family. My parents and many others put a great deal of energy into creating the church from the days at the YMCA, through the building process to the day the building was finished.

Your father was not just part of the making the church building a reality but also he helped to create the fellowship of the congregation itself. As my dad and I spoke about it just yesterday, those were special times. We were blessed to share it both of your parents.

I have enclosed with this e-mail several photos of the ground-breaking and laying the cornerstone of the church that my dad had saved over the years plus 2 files of the church bulletin from the ground-breaking day.

I am copying the current Pastor at Pilgrim so that he can include them in the celebrations that are being planned for this spring. In deepest sympathy, Lorie Fiesselmann Dietz and Fritz Fiesselmann

May, 1966: Howard Bull looking out of the photo. Fritz Fiesselmann with the pipe.

Howard Bull and Fritz Fiesselmann probably on the day the cornerstone was laid.

Howard Bull on the right hand side. LeRoy Rumbaugh in the center. Fritz Fiesselmann is hidden behind Howard in the photo.

Groundbreaking day - left to right Howard Bull, Jim Isham, Mrs. Herbert Roberts, and Fritz Fiesselmann. Howard must have just cracked a joke with Jim.

Layingcornerstone: Three men - from right to left Howard Bull, Jim Flack and the third man I do not know
