Good Knight - $40.00
Wirtz, Virginia, - Several weeks ago a Syroco Golden Knight sold on ebay for $2599.00. Several others have appeared on ebay in the past couple of years selling in the $2000.00 range.
Another Knight is currently listed on ebay with a closing date of July 28. As of this writing it has reached $685.00.
But what about a Knight for $40.00? The Knight pictured here was recently offered and the alert bidder did indeed pay only $40.00. And how can that happen? The corkscrew was listed on July 17 at 12:33:49 PDT with a "Buy It Now" offering at $40.00. The bidder was johnny-on-the-spot sixty-one seconds later and snatched up this incredible bargain.
The title of the auction was "cork screw opener shape of a KNIGHT" and the description was "Knight that turns into cork screw opener when you pull his head off. He is 9 1/2 inches high and is made out of resin. He was made by the Syracuse, Ornamental Co. Sticker reads SYROCO.
Congratulations to Josef L'Africain for a fantastic buy. Josef's "My First Screw" article appeared in last Saturday's edition of The Daily Screw.
