May 26: The lumber has arrived!

May 28: Mike cut and drilled the termite shields, set the sill seal and shields.
Cut, drilled, and installed the pressure treated sill plate. |

Late on the 28th Bobby and Jacob came over to help. We built 64' of wall sections.
On Monday May 30, we made two more wall sections and the entry door section and set those.

That afternoon, Daren Layman showed up with great timing with his Kubota tractor to help
set the 16'-7" 2X12 garage door header. As you can see there was a lot of discussion about this step.
We then let him go and filled in the gap above the header.

On Wednesday June 8th, Mike and Deborah installed the tie plate on top of the walls.
Saturday, Bobby and Jacob came over to help again.
Bobby and Mike set the gable ends (117 lb. each, 24' long), braced them,
then installed all of the middle trusses (105 lb. each, 26' long).
The picture on the left shows Jacob making some adjustment to the gable end brace. (not really!)
The picture in the center shows Mike attaching the temporary brace to the top chord of the trusses.
The right picture shows Bobby lining up the truss end to the right spot. "Hold whatcha got!"
