Murphy Patent Catalog Cut
John Murphy's U. S. Patent 672,796, April 23, 1901
In the February 4, 2007 edition of The Weekly Screw, we featured the above envelope (found by reader Mark Woodard) together with a number of Ayer's trade cards. Reader Josef L'Africain found a later Clough envelope. This one was mailed in 1916 to the Bergen Pharmacal Co. in Rutherford, New Jersey.
Mark's envelope was mailed in 1904 long after the Chicago and Atlanta awards were received by Clough. Was Clough using up old stationery before re-ordering with the additional awards listed?
Editor's Note: If you have a Clough envelope, send a photo of it to the Weekly.
