Connect the Corkscrews

Wirtz, Virginia - The three pieces above all come in red and white boxes. Any idea what they all have in common?

They are all have a two ounce jigger, a corkscrew, and a bottle cap lifter. The pistol and the short jigger also have a can piercer (on the worm cover).

The golf bag also comes in green. They all came from E.P.P. at 225 5th Ave., N. Y. City as seen on the mark on the worm cover on the green golf bag. The E.P.P.I. N.Y.C. mark appears on the pistol just below the barrel.

If you are into collecting variations of corkscrews, take a close look at the golf bag sets, you'll find they come with different types of golf clubs including some with dull colors and others with bright colors. We haven't seen any variations of Pistol Pete or Bottoms Up. We assume these were made later than the golf bag due to the addition of the can piercer.

What we don't know:

  1. Was a patent issued (the green golf bag is marked PAT APP FOR)?
  2. E. P. P. is an abbreviation for what company name? The "I." on the pistol probably is short for Inc.
  3. What other variations exist?

Take a look at yours and let us know if you have any answers to the above.
