It's a Corker!
Wirtz, Virginia - We received this query from reader Herb Danziger:
I found a French side handle corker like the one shown on page 308 of The Ultimate Corkscrew Book. Any idea of maker, age, etc.? It is marked to "Brevete SGDG" on the top and "No. 30" plus a crossed curvy T on the front. Is yours marked the same way?
We don't know the age but we examined the two in our collection and found these marks:
