My First Screw
I got My First Screw a couple of years ago after my wife and I both decided to collect something specific when we visited antique fairs and boot sales, instead of bringing home all sorts of stuff. My wife chose to collect brooches.
After looking through some antique guides for inspiration and then visiting the Internet and ironically stumbling across The Virtual Corkscrew Museum, I decided that I'd look for Corkscrews. My First Screw was a Mannekin Pis for 50p. I was delighted with this little fellow and, at the time, I thought I'd stumbled on quite a find.
You'll find me now travelling 200 miles to be at the front of the queue at the major UK antique fairs at around 5.00 a.m. looking for that special find!! All because of a 50p Mannekin Pis.
