Natural Bridge
Natural Bridge, Virginia - On October 9 members of the International Correspondence of Corkscrew Addicts gathered at Natural Bridge to attempt to recreate the picnic scene in an 1888 drawing by W. P. Snyder published in Harper's Weekly. After walking back and forth under the bridge several times, few could agree on an exact location. Pavement had replaced dirt and grass and a stream may have been re-routed. It rained and none were willing to sit on the ground and pose. However, various members of the ICCA displayed their cork pulling stances. Which one do you think created the most striking resemblance to the character in Snyder's drawing? (email your vote)
