Plant's Folly

Wolverhampton, England, June 10, 1905 - William Hait Plant has applied for a patent on a corkscrew with integrated handle. Plant's corkscrew works by turned the worm into the cork until it reaches the frame. By continuing to turn the frame, the cork will be extracted. Plant says "It's Magic" and he has named the corkscrew "The Magic."

Editor's Note: Plant was never granted a patent because he did not follow up his application with specifications on a timely basis.
