Christmas Shopping in Toronto
With Corkscrew Christmas Shopper Jean Grignon.
Toronto, Canada - In this 1901 T. Eaton Co. Limited catalog we find a Horseman's or Farrier's knife (not offered as such) for $1.50.
Timothy Eaton founded the Canadian department store chain T. Eaton in 1869. He started with a small dry goods business in Toronto. By the time he died in 1907, he had a giant retail store, a busy mailorder business, and a branch store in Winnipeg.
In August of 1999 T. Eaton & Co. filed for bankruptcy protection. A month later Sears of Canada purchased the company.
