Three Vintners' Company silver medallions each chased with the crest of the Company; with pendant ring handle; in fitted leather case The motto on the case is Vinum Exhilarat Aninum which is the motto of the Worshipful Company of Vintners in London. The medallions are hallmarked and the medallions are for George Gray 1812, George Gray 1860, and Frederick Gray 1858. A wonderful piece of history awaiting more research. A wine coaster from Australia with the inscription "The Cumberland Agricultural Society to Edwd Cox for Best Sample of Wine 1847." Bacchus seated on the reverse. Heavy edge ornately decorated with grapes, vines and leaves. 3 1/2" diameter. Hallmarked.

Edward Cox was born in England. He died in New South Wales, Australia on May 18, 1868. He was commissioned as a Justice of the Peace. Member of the Committee of the Cumberland Agricultural Society. The inaugural meeting of the Society was held on July 5, 1822, At that first meeting, Sir John Jamison was elected as President and William Cox as a Vice-President. William was Edward's father. Edward was a pastoralist and stud farmer when he was nominated to the old Legislative Council. He inherited property from his father at Mulgoa, where he built 'Fernhill' in 1840. He owned other stations including squatting interests, where he bred merinos.
