Ursa Major or the Great Bear represents one of the many loves of Zeus, Callisto. Callisto was the daughter of King Lacaon of Arcadia. She was fond of hunting and was connected with Artemis, the Goddess of the Hunt. Ursa Major is near Draco and Leo in the region of the north celestial pole. The well known Big Dipper is part of the constellation Ursa Major.
The reclining bear is the sheath for the worm with cap lifter handle.
