MCH001 SOLD

A London Rack with a very nice handle. Marked LONDON PATENT (see below). There is pitting on the frame and a very, very slight distortion to the last turn of the worm (see below).

MCH004 SOLD

This is a very good example of Dunisch & Schöler 1883 German Patent No. 27175. It is the forerunner to the Hercules. 70% of plating intact. Excellent handle (see below).




MCH005 $165

Ernst Demmler's 1884 German patent for the "Perpetual". To use the corkscrew, the worm is first fully extended. Turn the corkscrew clockwise to insert the worm. By continuously turning the handle, the cork is supposed to be pulled when the crossover threads rise around the pin. Interesting handle (see below).




MCH006 SOLD

Theodor Kampf's German Registration No. 958,928 of July 22, 1926. It has ball bearings in the top and a sliding frame. Marked RECORD at the top of the frame on one side and D.R.G.M. on the other (see below).

D.R.G.M. is abbreviation for Deutches Reichs Gebrauchsmuster which is German Empire Registered Design.

Dunisch & Schöler 1883 German Patent No. 27175 Hercules corkscrew. 98% of plating intact. Handle has some wear as seen in the photo above. Marked GERMANY at top of frame.

MCH009 $225

1934 Adolf Menz German Registered Corkscrew. A Nickel-plated open frame corkscrew with ball bearing assist. German Registered Design (D.R.G.M.) Number 1,308,467 of May 28, 1934 Firma Adolf Menz Wve.

There is a locking device on the shaft. It keeps the frame from pushing up when the cork is self-extracted. It can then be depressed to push the frame up the shaft for easy removal of the cork from the worm. Very nice condition.

D.R.G.M. is abbreviation for Deutches Reichs Gebrauchsmuster which is German Empire Registered Design.

A corkscrew and a box.

An open frame corkscrews with spring assist marked GERMANY THE CHRISTIAN BROTHERS on the frame.

The neat wooden wine box with a sliding removable top. It is 13" wide, 7" deep, and 4 1/2" high. Great for storing a few treasured corkscrews. On the top is "Brother Timothy's Special Selection" with a rendering of the vineyard. On the to ends is "The Christian Brothers". On the two sides is "The Christian Brothers Select Napa Valley Wines. Brother Timothy (1910-2004) was a legend in the worlds of corkscrew collecting and wine making. The box is a nice memory of this great man.



MCH011 $85

Perille Rack & Pinion Corkscrew from George Creuse January 6, 1930 French patent number 687,747. The corkscrew has two ratchet wheels.Marked JP DEPOSE PARIS in a circle on one side of the top of the frame (see below). Condition is very good except for the very tip of the worm is either broken or was poorly made.

Near mint open frame corkscrew with crab piece mechanism marked Germany. Interesting fish-like handle.
